Dan is quite familiar with the challenges pastors face. Most recently, he was the Senior Pastor of Bethany Church on the Hill in Thousand Oaks, CA where he served for 16 years. Prior to that, he served three churches in the Minnesota Baptist Conference. He is a graduate of Bethel Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota, and was a part-time instructor in Biola University’s BOLD program, teaching Bible and leadership classes. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Converge Southwest, while continuing to minister as an associate pastor in his local congregation.
Dan’s focus is in conflict management. He completed a program in Mediation and Conflict Management at California State University, Northridge, and offers conflict management assistance in three areas – the pro-active approach of equipping people to deal with conflict before disputes arise, coaching pastors and church leaders who are in the midst of conflict, and mediation.
Dan is part of the cadre of PIR Ministries Clergy Coaches. He believes that having a coach to provide advice, encouragement, support, and correction would be an asset for any pastor. Knowing there is a sounding board or a compassionate friend to talk with would mean a lot to any pastor, not only during times of crisis, but also in everyday ministry.
Dan and his wife Pam have two married children and five grandchildren. The live in Thousand Oaks, California.
